Jōvan is a brand with a longstanding history. Since 1972, Jōvan has been a fragrance leader. Its Musk fragrance continues to be a best-selling Musk brand in broad distribution. Jōvan's early marketing campaigns became industry benchmarks and, during the Rolling Stones' 1981 "Tattoo You" Tour, it was the first-ever fragrance to sponsor a rock band.

Jōvan Musk is a line of cologne for men and women. Barry Shipp developed the oil musk as a standalone fragrance and introduced it to the market in 1972 through Jōvan. Jōvan Musk's co-founder, Murray Moscona, created the oil fragrance's first iteration. The line is now being manufactured by Coty.

The earliest edition "Mink & Pearls" was created in 1968 and the newest is from 2024.
