Lalique is a French glasswear design house founded by French jeweler, medalist and glass designer René Lalique in 1888. Lalique is best known for the glass art it made in the early 20th century, like perfume bottles, vases, and hood ornaments.

In 1888, René Lalique registered his “RL” stamp and engraved the unique pieces created in his workshop with these letters. In 1905, Lalique opened a new shop at Place Vendôme which exhibited not only jewelry, but glass works as well. It was close to the shop of renowned Perfumer François Coty and he was so impressed by René Lalique’s designs that he asked him to put his talent to work for the perfume industry. Their collaboration had begun in 1907. Their work together revolutionized the perfume industry and made it possible for the first time to offer perfumes in attractive bottles at affordable prices.

In 1992, Marie-Claude, the grand-daughter of René Lalique, created the first fragrance of Lalique, "Lalique de Lalique". Since 2010, the Swiss company Art and Fragrance has owned Lalique.

The first edition was created in 1992 and the latest is "Soleil Lunar Lalique", launched in 2024.
