Narciso Rodriguez was started by an American fashion designer, Narciso Rodriguez. Rodriguez performed freelance design work in New York before becoming Women’s Design Director for the Anne Klein label, then later working for Calvin Klein. In 1995, Rodriguez became Design Director of TSE, and was simultaneously appointed Design Director of Cerruti in Paris. In 1997, the Narciso Rodriguez label was launched and presented its first ready-to-wear collection for women in Milan.

In 2003, he launched his first fragrance, "Narciso Rodriguez For Her," in partnership with Shiseido's Beaute Prestige International Brand. The men's companion, "Narciso Rodriguez For Him," followed in 2007. Since then, Narciso Rodriguez has expanded his fragrance collection to include "Essence," "Narciso," and "Oriental Musc Editions."

The first edition was created in 2003 and the latest is Narciso Rodriguez For Her Intense, launched in 2025.
